Knox College is seeking a technologically skilled and experienced individual for the Serials Technician position at the Knox College Library.  This position is full time, 12 months per year. The Serials Technician, reporting to Associate Librarian Sharon Clayton, joins our dynamic team of para-professionals providing a high level of service to Knox’s students and faculty.

Duties include:  heading the library’s Serials department, performing all serials procedures and maintaining all serials data; supervising student employees in both the Serials and Interlibrary Loan departments; and providing backup and routine assistance to the Interlibrary Loan department.

 Associates degree is required; a two-year Library Technical Assistant Certificate or a B.A. /B.S. is preferred, along with experience of one or more of the following: integrated library systems, WorldCat, OCLC Connexion software, or the ILLiad interlibrary loan program.

Requirements: Ability to interpret and apply a wide variety of library policies and procedures in an academic environment subject to rapid technological and organizational change; experience with standard office software such as MS Word and Excel; experience with at least one other proprietary software program in a work setting; a minimum of one year of relevant library experience or other work experience learning and demonstrating the skills necessary for this position.
