Hours: 
22 hours per week including mornings, afternoons, evenings and every third weekend.
Salary: 
Starting salary $18.29/hour.
Position Description: 

Do you love talking about the latest flick, indie band or best seller?  Do you enjoy tracking down information?  We need extroverts who enjoy approaching customers and can quickly help them connect with their favorite interests and information needs.

 

Good working knowledge of Windows 7 and the Internet are required.  Experience using online databases preferred.  Prior work experience in a library a plus.

 

Must have excellent skills in greeting customers and initiating discussion about their interests.  A good working knowledge of books, music, movies and popular culture is required to make recommendations for appropriate reading, listening and viewing materials.  Requires basic research skills (learned at school or work) to help customers readily find desired resources and materials.

 

BS/BA or equivalent work experience required.

 

Positions include vacation, sick leave and participation in IMRF pension plan.
