Head of Circulation Services

The Wilmette Public Library is seeking an enthusiastic, customer-service oriented person to lead our busy Circulation department.  Responsibilities include supervision of Circulation, Interlibrary Loan and security staff and oversight of the Shelving department.  Successful candidate will have a commitment to providing high quality service in a welcoming environment and will be able to impart this same spirit to the staff.  Creativity, flexibility, and a good sense of humor are required.  Knowledge of technology is essential.

This position is an integral part of the management team.  Candidates are expected to have a comprehensive understanding of public library functions and a commitment to collaboration with other departments for the operation and development of the library.  The ability to plan and implement short- and long range goals is essential.

Minimum Requirements

Four year college education is preferred.  Three to five years of related work with some supervisory experience.  Strong conflict resolution skills.  Sound judgment and decision making skills.  Well organized with the ability to manage multiple demands at once.  Excellent communication skills.
